  • Use the digital handout at the bottom of this screen. 
  • Work through the different squares one at a time.  Convince yourself that each square is split in half.  How do you know?
  • Record your think ing on a scratch piece of paper, using color-coding, words, visuals and other ways to show why the shape shows halves. You should be able to convince yourselves and someone else. 

Consider the following questions:

  1. What does it mean to split a shape in half? 
  2. What needs to be true in order for them to be halves?
