Enrollment options

Foundations in Early Education is designed to develop the skills necessary to work in the early childhood education field.  The course will include understanding of the infant and toddler learning foundations, developmental milestones for child growth and development, child health and safety care, child nutrition, guidance and discipline procedures, and intellectual and physical activities.  This class is taught in a combination of classroom and a hands-on lab experience in which students work in a supervised early childhood program with children from six weeks to 36 months. Course content examines essential policies, principles, and practices that leads to quality care and developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers.  Students have the opportunity to earn up to 9 units of Merced College credit in Child Development.
