Foundations in EE CLDV-30

The Foundations in Early Education: CLDV-30 and CLDV-30L class is taught in a combination of classroom development and curriculum planning. In addition it included a hands-on lab experience in which students work in a supervised early childhood program with children from six weeks to 36 months. Course content examines essential policies, principles, and practices that leads to quality care and developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers.  Students have the opportunity to earn up to 6 units of Merced College credit in Child Development.

Foundations in EE: CLDV-01

Foundations in Early Education is designed to develop the skills necessary to work in the early childhood education field.  The course will include understanding of the infant and toddler learning foundations, developmental milestones for child growth and development, child health and safety care, child nutrition, guidance and discipline procedures, and intellectual and physical activities.  This class is taught in a combination of classroom and a hands-on lab experience in which students work in a supervised early childhood program with children from six weeks to 36 months. Course content examines essential policies, principles, and practices that leads to quality care and developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers.  Students have the opportunity to earn up to 9 units of Merced College credit in Child Development.

Medical Office Administration

This course will prepare students for successful careers as administrative medical office assistants.  Covering customer service, medical terminology, and administrative tasks from appointment scheduling to medical billing, this will help students develop the knowledge and skills they need to think critically and respond confidently to the challenges they will encounter in a medical office.  Students will work with an electronic medical record simulation and will practice day-to-day tasks as if they were in an actual office setting. In addition, the students will be introduced to Word, Excel and Outlook. This course articulates with Merced College’s Administrative Medical Office Class, AOM 59. Each student will be placed at an internship at a local health care facility in order to get real life experience.
