Profession wise I am not in a current teaching position, but I am the library media specialist at my site and I am charge of distributing chromebooks to the students.  On top of making sure everyone had a device our computer tech is currently on maternity leave so I was also assisting with questions regarding chromebooks not working and putting in repair orders.  It was a quick adjustment for me and overwhelming in the beginning.

At home with my children it was a whole different challenge on its own.  I have a 2nd grader and a 3rd grader and distance learning with them was a different battle every day.  My 2nd grader became very dependent and would not do any work on her own and needed mom to help her step by step just to finish her daily assignments.  My son on the other hand was very independent, but it was a struggle just to get him to want to start his school day.

I would love for school to resume normally in the fall considering it is safe for the students.  I feel like some students just do not adapt to home schooling very well because they need that social interaction outside of the home.  My kids were too comfortable with mom being the teacher and would refuse or put up a fight to even do school work.  As with a stranger they have that respect and will listen, focus, and learn the daily lessons.

I agree, kids don't adapt well. I have three children and they are getting tired of staying home

Yes, it has for sure been a huge challenge.  I just hope they come up with something for kids who are more hands on!

"stressful" is a great word to describe the transition. Educators struggling to prepare the work along with the students and parents struggling to complete the work!
